PhotoSC presents Becoming: The Feminist Image, a photography exhibition featuring works from 30 female photographers from across the United States and Europe.

The feminist image offers a powerful lens to view and to better understand the temporality and fluidity of the feminine self. In their profoundly personal work, many women bring a sense of universal experiences, mythologies, surreal visions to their everyday experiences, creating images that are poignant, relatable and haunting. It is the beauty of diverse seeing.

The images of the 30 female photographers in Becoming: The Feminist Image define femininity and capture strength, vulnerability and beauty. The unique vision and power of the female photographer is showcased, opening a conversation about identity, about oneself, about the changing nature of femininity, and about the feminine photographic voice of becoming.
