Withering calla lilies, that have just begun to succumb to the summer heat, stand in contrast to the timeless purity of the white quartz that sits beside them. These flowers bloom every Spring and Fall in my yard and their beauty and majesty are always a welcome gift. I love the purity of the flowers at their peak but as their blooms began to wither I decided to try to capture and juxtapose their ephemeral nature with this piece of quartz.
