I like to shoot photos on my property as I have large desert trees with blossoms covering the ground. Using my iPhone’s Portrait setting gives shallow depth of field perfect for the still life. I chose subject matter about life in my yard and home. The warm morning light revealed a scene of color, textures and a dead starling that summed up life for me in that moment. I had to capture it. My brain grasped onto rebirth like the Easter egg hunt not having to do with a crucifixion. A little bird has contributed to my yard’s beauty by providing nutrients to the surrounding plants. It’s how you look and think about things that can make your day.
