Come join us in the cool air of Flagstaff for a two-day demonstration of Platinum/Palladium printing darkroom and a print viewing with noted photographer Dick Arentz.

Dick is an internationally recognized photographer, educator and an expert on platinum/palladium printing. His work is in over 30 public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, J Paul Getty Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

For the first day, we will convene at Dick’s studio on Saturday, May 25th from 1:00–4:00PM, where Dick will give a darkroom demonstration of palladium printing, including the use of digitally printed negatives.

That evening, we plan to have dinner with Dick as a group, and perhaps visit the historic Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff. There is a 7PM presentation at the observatory entitled “Science of Light” which may be of interest. Each attendee is responsible for the cost of their own dinner and observatory admission. We may be able to get a group discount and possible tour at the observatory if we have a group of 15 or more.

On Sunday, we plan on returning to Dick’s studio from 10:30AM – 12:30PM for a print viewing.

IMPORTANT: On the TICKETS link, if you plan to attend both Saturday AND Sunday, be sure to choose the May 25th date option that also includes May 26th, it will look like the image below.

If you are planning to attend ONLY on Saturday or ONLY on Sunday, choose the individual ticket date May 25th OR May 26th when you register. Dick’s address will be provided on your order confirmation.

Participants are free to choose to attend events scheduled for either Saturday or Sunday or both. There is a limit of 15 AZPA members during each time slot. This event is free for AZPA members, and each attendee must be a current member. For the dinner and observatory visit, non-members are welcome to join our group.

If you are staying overnight, you will need to make your own arrangements for lodging. This is Memorial Day weekend so hotel rooms should probably be booked as soon as possible.
