Gallery Talk with William W. Fuller

January 6 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

FREE

Photographer William W. Fuller will talk about his exhibit, “Faces and Figures,” currently on view at Cattle Track Arts. Featuring photographs made over 50 years, William will talk with viewers about his portraits, nudes, cityscapes and landscapes. This will give insight into his motivations for making the images and craft of creating the gelatin-silver prints.

William Fuller says about his own work, “Portraiture may be the stepchild of fine art photography, but since the inception of the medium it has been the most valid. Valid because anyone can photograph a loved one or a stranger and have a record, a visual memory. Even among fine art photographers from Ansel Adams to Max Yavno portraits abound.

“In my case I am somewhere in the middle. These images are all of friends and family, but I have taken the artistic examples Arnold Newman, Wynn Bullock and others to heart. While this exhibit covers almost 50 years, the work continues.”

The gelatin-silver prints on view are printed in the darkroom personally by Mr. Fuller from 4″ x 5″ negatives. Archival pigmented inkjet prints, printed by Carlos Mandelaveitia of Tru Res, and published by Cattle Track Press, are offered in editions of 50.

This event is perfect for photographers, collectors, art educators, and people interested in exploring their own creativity.

Nude portraits will be on view in the gallery.
