You are cordially invited to join us for the official opening reception of the fourth annual Arizona Photography Alliance Members’ Exhibition. Meet and mingle with the AZPA member artists whose images are on display and vote for the Viewers’ Choice of the exhibition. We will also conduct the Annual Members’ Meeting of the corporation at 5:00PM, where we elect the directors for the coming term and give a summary of the past year and future plans. All current AZPA members are encouraged to attend, and guests are welcome.

Concurrent with the opening of the live exhibition, we will also open an Online Members’ Exhibition Gallery on our website. Check back and view all of the images at your leisure, and listen to audio narrations provided by several of the artists talking about their work.

Get Ready to Vote for your Viewers’ Choice
As part of this exhibition, we’re also bringing back the popular Viewers’ Choice selection. Here’s how it works: From June 4–June 16, 2022 visitors to the Mood Room can pick up a ballot and vote for their favorite image in the gallery. The artist with the most cumulative votes will be named the 2022 Viewers’ Choice and have the opportunity to present their work at a future AZPA event.

Live & Silent Auction to Benefit the Hartwell Project

During the evening, please join in the bidding excitement as we raise funds for our own Hartwell Project: the posthumous recognition of a prolific Arizona photographer Francis A. “Frank” Hartwell, who practiced in Tucson and Phoenix from 1881–1906. Lost to time, we’ve recently learned he is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery with no headstone or marker.

We have been collecting a selection of valuable fine art prints, books and more that will be offered in both silent and live auction formats during the course of the evening reception. To pique your interest, on online catalog will be distributed soon!

Proceeds of the auction will go toward the purchase of a headstone to commemorate Mr. Hartwell and his significant contributions to early photography in our state. Any surplus funds raised will go toward other photographers in a similar circumstance.
