Paths Cross: Photography from Beyond the Great Wall
July 5 @ 1:00 pm - July 26 @ 7:00 pm
PATHS CROSS is a partnership between Ding Ding Stewart, Chinese born art director at Dibarti, and Sean McGarry, curator of 9 The Gallery, to deliver a rare opportunity for emerging Chinese artists to exhibit exclusively in Phoenix. This exhibit is the international debut for these Chinese artists risking their careers to present their work here in Phoenix.
“This is a chance to break misconceptions. We intend to demonstrate what connects us as humans and show how beautifully familiar the unfamiliar can be.”
This group show includes work from over a dozen different Chinese artists, each being represented in the United States for the very first time. The exhibition showcases a fascinating journey of photographers’ evolution from traditional to modern photography, including black and white negatives, platinum printing techniques, and digital photography. The subjects on display are diverse, featuring landscapes, self-portraits, relic wagons from ancient China dating back to 200 BC, and Buddhist sculptures.
Parking is free and available in the gated lot out front of the building.
