How many people can you reach by pushing a button? And do the sheer numbers matter, or the people behind the numbers? Are your efforts in having a presence online better served by being “followed” by a broad audience, or by strategically posting with searchable hashtags towards being “found” by curators, art consultants, photo researchers and others searching for specific visual content? Can you successfully have a presence to satisfy both audiences?

In this afternoon lecture, Mary Virginia Swanson introduces strategies for using social media platforms and empowering hashtags to engage followers with your creative practice and your image archives and ultimately move your career forward towards new audiences.

Format: Workshop will be held on Zoom – login info will be provided to registered attendees 24 hours prior to the event. Workshop will last approximately 1-1/2 hours, followed by a half-hour for Q&A.
