The mission of LAS is to provide an inclusive place of creative discovery for the community of Silver City and its visitors. They feature changing art exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and other events. LAS interfaces with local public schools and WNMU by exhibiting student work, providing access to professional art, and interactive art making. Through juried and curated exhibitions, they present their community access to work not usually seen in small, rural towns.
