This image is part of a series, Through Colored Glass, which I have photographed colored glass vases and bottles in front of a window. The ability to transmit, absorb, or reflect light is a characteristic that makes glass very appealing by stirring the imagination of the viewer in a unique way. The shapes of the still life composition are deliberately softened and indistinct, contributing to the abstract nature of the piece. This emphasis on color and form over detail invokes a sense of movement and fluidity, leading to an overall impression that is both modern and expressive.
