I visited Bodie Ghost Town, an abandoned gold mining town near Mammoth, California. As I walked through the town, I was disappointed that the buildings were not accessible for the most part. The drive had been long, and I wasn’t sure I’d find anything I wanted to photograph. But then as I was standing on the porch of a house, I realized that the Mill that processed ore reflected in the window. And because the window glass was old, the wavy lines distorted how the mill appeared. It wasn’t until I had the image up on the computer screen that I saw something that really amazed me. Faintly, the pattern of the wallpaper and water stains running down the wall appeared as though this was a double image.
