The foil that wraps all those sweet, dear, appealing chocolate Easter bunnies, Thanksgiving turkeys, Santas and Halloween jack-o-lanterns uses the cleverly sculpted chocolate forms within to disguise their true nature. Released from the strictures of bunny-wrapping, the foils are free to become altogether different beings. Strange. Leering. Eerie. Intrusive. Sardonic. For over 60 years, I’ve enjoyed my annual ritual of liberating the foils from chocolate creatures. FOILED no more, the chocolate yummies they encase are consumed and forgotten. The FOILS live on!
