I made this image in November of 2020 as part of a Street Photography workshop with Neil Miller. I saw these women at a pre-election prayer event that took place near the Arizona Capitol Building. The prayer group was sponsored by the Bridge Builders Events and Initiatives along with the Center for Arizona Policy. I wanted to examine the atmosphere of political events during the pandemic. I felt like it was important to see various political events from every angle since it was such a divisive time.
