For years I have photographed places, people, historical objects, nature, everything that I was drawn to by their pure intrinsic value. The Public Market Place in Seattle, Washington has this type of subject matter and spending an afternoon and early evening there, I was surrounded by overwhelming subject matter.
What surprised me when I took this photograph was the simplicity of a product, thrown casually into a box for sale, yet seemingly arranged for some type of botanical study. I took the photo and laughed…I don’t even LIKE mushrooms!
