At age 18, I was very passionate about two things: rollerskating and photography. Growing up in a small town, with not much to do, I had a lot of time on my hands. So, any chance I got, I was doing one of the two activities, and often both together. “Wipeout” beautifully portrays the “light” that is finding a new passion or hobby with the “shadow” of tumbling, falling, failing. No one can instantaneously master rollerskating, or any skill for that matter. It is through our failures, our falls, our bruising, our tumbling, our wipeouts, that we truly master what we desire, and how we truly find ourselves.
