Curtis & Goldwater Exhibition Visit at Western Spirit Museum of the West
February 19, 2022 @ 1:45 pm - 4:00 pm
About this event
In partnership with Western Spirit, our group is invited for this special opportunity to tour two significant photography exhibitions now on display:
Light and Legacy: The Art and Techniques of Edward Curtis offers museum guests an opportunity to view one of the largest collections of Curtis material with a breadth and depth rarely presented in a single exhibition.
Photographs by Barry M. Goldwater: Selections from the Arizona Highways Collection. Goldwater was one of Arizona Highways magazine’s first and foremost photographers, and his favorite subjects included the Grand Canyon and the Native peoples of Arizona.
We will gather at 1:45 pm for a welcome talk with Tricia Loscher, Assistant Director for Collections, Exhibitions and Research. Attendees will then split into two groups, each assigned a docent. Each group will start at one of the exhibitions, then rotate to tour the other exhibition.
This exclusive insider tour is limited to 25 Arizona Photography Alliance members. Western Spirit has generously offered AZPA a group rate of $15 per person (regular $20).
Register now to join your Arizona photography community at this very special event!
NOTE: Per the museum’s policy, face coverings recommended for everyone regardless of vaccination status.
