From the artist
To take my mind off of COVID-19 and the election, I decided to enter a photography challenge. The requirement was that the photo must be a close-up and focus on one color. I was lost for a bit, trying different objects and not capturing anything I was excited about. Then, while getting ready for breakfast, I realized that organic hen eggs have a tan color and that I also had a matching colored paper I could use as the backdrop. I loved the way the shells curved to touch at one point and create a tension of space between them. Watching people’s initial reaction to the photo, especially my mother’s reaction, was entertaining. Although I thought for a brief moment I was about to be grounded.
